The police have requested an arrest warrant for A, a man in his 20s and one of three suspects involved in the kidnapping and murder of a Korean tourist in Pattaya, Thailand.
On the 14th, the Criminal Mobile Unit of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant for A on charges of aiding and abetting murder earlier that morning.
A is suspected of participating in the kidnapping, murder, and disposal of the body of B, a Korean man in his 30s, along with two other Korean accomplices in Pattaya earlier this month.
The police plan to clarify the exact charges against A through further investigation, including adding or changing criminal charges as necessary.
A, who entered Korea from Thailand on the 9th, was urgently arrested by police at a residence in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk, at around 7:46 p.m. on the 12th.
Another suspect, C, also in his 20s, was apprehended by resident and local police at a lodging in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, at around 12:10 a.m. on the same day.
The police are cooperating with local authorities to track down the remaining suspect and are negotiating C’s repatriation to Korea. After repatriation, C is expected to be transferred to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency for investigation.

Earlier, on the 12th, the body of a man was found in a black plastic container at a depth of 3 meters in a reservoir in Pattaya, Thailand. The container was sealed with cement, and all of the man’s fingers had been cut off.
The man was identified as B, a tourist in his 30s from Gimhae, Gyeongnam, who entered Thailand on the 30th of last month and went missing after the 2nd of this month.
The police immediately launched an investigation and found that two of the suspects had taken B in a rental car to Pattaya around 2 a.m. on the 3rd, switched to another vehicle, and rented accommodation near the reservoir.
They also confirmed that the suspects purchased rope and a black plastic container, left the lodging with a black object loaded in the car trunk around 9 p.m. the next day, parked near the reservoir for about an hour, and then returned to the lodging.
Local police deployed divers to confirm the body inside the black plastic drum in the reservoir and identified three Korean suspects, launching a manhunt.
With two suspects already arrested, only one suspect remains at large.
