Hwaseong-si "Take Your Kids on a Library Outing"

'Bookstart Week' Event Held from 18th to 24th
Early Childhood Programs Offered at 18 Municipal Libraries

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the 'Bookstart Week' event for one week from the 18th to the 24th.

Under the theme "Let's go on a book picnic to the library!", this event will be held simultaneously at 175 libraries nationwide, with 18 municipal libraries participating in Hwaseong City.

'Bookstart' is a community reading culture movement operating in more than 40 countries worldwide with the purpose of "starting life with books." This event, jointly organized by Bookstart Korea and local governments, is part of a social childcare support project that helps early childhood reading activities.

During the event period, each library will set up a 'Book Reading Picnic Zone' for children. In addition, there will be an exhibition of picture books related to this year's theme, "Home," along with various commemorative programs and experiential events. Picture postcards, stickers, and book list leaflets will also be given as gifts to infants and toddlers visiting the libraries.

At each library, 'Hwaseong City Bookstart Dodam Dodam Volunteer Activists' will visit to conduct picture book reading and book play activities for infants, toddlers, and their caregivers. During Bookstart Week, the volunteers will visit ▲ Bongdam Library ▲ Taean Library ▲ Seoyeon Ieumteo Library ▲ Jinan Library ▲ Dungjinarae Children's Library ▲ Songrin Ieumteo Library ▲ Dongtan Complex Cultural Center Library. Next month, they plan to visit ▲ Namyang Library ▲ Wangbae Pureunsup Library.
