Seokgyeong AT announced on the 14th through a public disclosure that its consolidated financial statements showed a 1st quarter sales revenue of 2.5691 billion KRW, an 8.37% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating loss was recorded at 72.4 million KRW, and net profit for the period decreased by 13.63% year-on-year to 266.07 million KRW.
Regarding the 1st quarter sales, the increase was driven by expanded applications of resin products in the dental materials sector with existing clients, leading to higher exports. Reflecting industry needs, the company launched the New Barium Glass (new dental glass filler) with improved mechanical strength and transparency, securing new customers and expecting gradual sales growth going forward.
On the operating loss, a company representative explained, “During the aggressive promotion of new businesses such as all-solid-state battery electrolyte materials, we strengthened the R&D division by hiring numerous specialized senior researchers and research staff, which increased personnel expenses and related ongoing R&D costs, resulting in a slight decrease in operating profit this quarter.”
In fact, Seokgyeong AT is making company-wide focused investments to concretize new businesses, including injecting approximately 800 million KRW in the 2nd quarter alone. The company’s strategy is to enhance profitability in existing material businesses such as biohealthcare, electrical and electronics, and coatings, while accelerating the commercialization of new businesses to improve operating profit.
Seokgyeong AT CEO Lim Hyungseop stated, “This year, we are in the process of preparing for a new leap while stably operating existing material businesses,” adding, “We will not hesitate to invest in new businesses to become a sustainably growing company.” He further added, “We will focus on strengthening technological competitiveness through quality testing of new business materials and advancement of patent IP to achieve tangible results.”
Meanwhile, the third plant located in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk, which will serve as the forward base for Seokgyeong AT’s new business promotion, broke ground on the 7th and aims for completion by the end of this year. This facility will be responsible for mass production of hollow silica, thermal interface materials (TIM) for electric vehicle batteries, and electrolyte materials for secondary all-solid-state batteries.
