500km on a Single Charge... New EV6 Launching Next Month

Kia announced that it will begin accepting orders for the new EV6 starting on the 14th. This is a facelift model released about three years after the 2021 launch, featuring an increased battery capacity that extends the driving range to nearly 500 km. While updating the design inside and out and adding various safety and convenience features, the price has been kept unchanged.

Similar to the facelift model of Hyundai's Ioniq 5 released earlier, the battery capacity has been increased to 84 kWh. The driving range on a single charge is 494 km (combined, long-range rear-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels), which is about 20 km longer than before.

The exterior features a redesigned front bumper and lamp design. The headlamps use Kia's newly introduced family look, Star Map signature lighting, giving a dynamic impression. The wheel and rear bumper designs have also been updated. A matte silver exterior color has been added. Inside, some design elements such as the display bezel and interior mood lighting graphics have been changed.

With wireless software updates, key electronic control functions of the vehicle can be kept up to date. Wireless connection support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is provided, along with features such as automatic door locking when moving away from the vehicle and e-Hi-Pass, which allows toll payments without a physical Hi-Pass card.

Prices before tax benefits range from 55.4 million KRW to 63.15 million KRW depending on the trim. With tax benefits applied, the company expects prices to be approximately 52.6 million KRW for the Light trim, 55.3 million KRW for Air, 59.35 million KRW for Earth, and 59.95 million KRW for the GT Line (rear-wheel drive models). Although subsidies are not yet finalized, considering they will likely be similar to those for the new Ioniq 5, most of the national subsidy (up to 6.5 million KRW) is expected to be received.

Jung Won-jung, head of Kia's domestic business division, said at a pre-release event held for the press the day before, "We have further enhanced the dynamic design and increased the driving range, which is a core need for consumers."
