Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) will hold two sessions of an admissions strategy briefing to provide information helpful for college entrance.
The first briefing, held on the 29th at 7 PM in the main lecture hall of the Guro Learning Support Center, will feature Kim Yong-taek, CEO of the Shinuihansu Admissions Strategy Research Institute, as the lecturer. He will analyze the results of the 2024 college admissions early decision and discuss key points to watch for in the 2025 university admissions under the theme "Formulating Strategies for Success in the 2025 Early Admissions." The session is aimed at about 50 high school students and parents.
The second briefing will take place on June 21 at 7 PM in the auditorium of Guro-gu Office. The topic is "Creating an Attractive Student Record through Subject Selection and Thematic Research in Response to Changes in the High School Credit System," with Bae Young-jun, a career and college admissions teacher at Boseong High School, as the lecturer. This session targets 200 students from 1st year middle school to 2nd year high school and their parents, focusing on thematic research writing methods for middle school students preparing for specialized high schools and high school students preparing for comprehensive admissions.
Applications can be made through the Guro Learning Support Center website. Registration for the first briefing starts on the 17th of this month, and for the second briefing on the 27th, both on a first-come, first-served basis. Materials will be provided free of charge.
In addition, the district will conduct a "School Visit Admissions Strategy Briefing." On the 24th of this month, lecturer Kim Yong-taek will visit Guhyeon High School to give a lecture on the 2025 university admissions system and response strategies.
Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, stated, "We also operate ongoing one-on-one customized college entrance counseling," and added, "We will do our best to ensure satisfactory career and college admissions guidance for examinees and parents."
