Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 14th that it will list the ‘SOL US AI Software ETF’ on the KOSPI market. This ETF focuses on leading AI software companies, which can be considered the next stage of AI semiconductors within the generative artificial intelligence (AI) value chain capable of creating new content. It is the second product in the US AI series following the ‘SOL US AI Semiconductor Chipmaker’ ETF.
The ‘SOL US AI Software ETF’ selected the top 15 stocks for its final portfolio by scoring representative companies related to ‘AI software’ and ‘AI services’ using the LLM (Large Language Model) technique.
The portfolio builds an exclusive AI software ecosystem centered around AI assistants like Copilot, including cloud services. It consists of 15 stocks such as Microsoft (20.8%), the largest shareholder of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT; Salesforce (8.4%), the global No.1 enterprise software company specializing in AI solutions; Adobe (6.6%), which holds content creation solutions utilizing generative AI based on overwhelming competitiveness in image and video editing; and Palantir (4.5%), a unique software company integrating AI in security and defense sectors.
Kim Jeong-hyun, Head of the ETF Business Division at Shinhan Asset Management, said, “If AI semiconductor chipmaker companies are considered the backend industries based on design and manufacturing, AI software broadly refers to all front-end areas within the generative AI value chain, including AI platforms, applications and services, and cloud.” He added, “We planned this ETF to invest in the AI software industry by selecting industries that can change and benefit from the spread of AI.”
