S-OIL Donates 100 Million KRW Scholarship Fund to 'Ulju Youth'

Support of 100 Million KRW Annually for 10 Years Starting from 2023

On the 13th, S-OIL donated 100 million KRW in scholarship funds to 'Ulju Youth' for children and adolescents in the Onsan area, where the company’s Ulsan plant is located.


The donation ceremony was attended by Lee Soon-geol, Ulju County Governor; Kim Tae-gi, Head of S-OIL Production Operations Headquarters; Yang Ho-young, Secretary General of the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea; Yoon Tae-yang, Director of Ulju Youth; and leaders of local resident organizations in Onsan.


Ulju Youth is a non-profit organization established in January 2023 with the purpose of supporting education and scholarships for children and adolescents in the Onsan area. S-OIL plans to donate 100 million KRW annually from 2023 to 2032 to the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea to support scholarship projects and educational facilities in the Onsan area.


The scholarship funds donated by S-OIL will be used through Ulju County and specialized institutions to improve the study environment for children and adolescents residing in Onsan-eup, provide AI and software education based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, offer various career experience learning programs, and support children’s cultural events.


Kim Tae-gi, Head of S-OIL Production Operations Headquarters, said, “We hope that the scholarship funds provided by S-OIL will help children and adolescents in the Onsan area participate in systematic career experience services and high-quality educational programs. S-OIL will strive to coexist with the Onsan area where our plant is located and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”


Yoon Tae-yang, Director of Ulju Youth, expressed gratitude, saying, “We are thankful that S-OIL’s generous donation enables us to provide diverse educational opportunities to children and adolescents in the Onsan area.”
