The ordinance includes provisions related to the district mayor's responsibilities for protecting rights and supporting self-reliance, education to improve awareness, and establishing a cooperative system with related organizations to support single-parent families; establishing support targets and plans; support projects and surveys; support for private organizations; and obligations of confidentiality.

Councilor Kim stated, "As family structures diversify due to social changes, the scope of single-parent families, including 'grandparent families' and 'youth single parents,' is also expanding. I hope that based on the enactment of this ordinance, we can move toward a more proactive 'Living Government Seo-gu by My Side' that promotes the self-reliance and welfare of various single-parent families."

He continued, "Currently, support is mainly carried out through central government ministries and metropolitan city projects, but it is also necessary to consider autonomous district support projects needed for single-parent families in our Seo-gu. I hope we can more concretely discuss policies needed for single-parent families in our jurisdiction, such as 'childcare' and 'housework support,' which are 'living service support projects' implemented in other autonomous districts."
