Dongmyeong University Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction Wins Multiple Awards at Daegu FCI International Dog Show

Students of Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) are showcasing the strength of their major departments by winning multiple awards at an external dog show.

On the 13th, Dongmyung University announced the award news of first- and second-year students from the Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction (Department Head Professor Kwak Jin-sook), who participated in the 2024 Daegu FCI International Dog Show held over two days from the 10th to the 11th.

In the pet grooming category, Bang Seo-in (Silver Award), Yoon Ki-hyun (Silver Award), and Bong Chae-yeon (Encouragement Award) received awards, and in the handler contest, Park Ji-yoon (Rising Star Award) and Bong Chae-yeon (Encouragement Award) were recognized, the university announced on the 13th.

Department Head Kwak Jin-sook proudly stated, “Our students are achieving excellent results in many domestic and international competitions, and their enthusiasm for learning is intense.”

The Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction at Dongmyung University applies advanced educational programs from developed countries to grooming and behavior correction, guiding students to grow into systematic professionals.

Additionally, the curriculum is designed to enable employment in various fields through obtaining national livestock-related certifications. The goal is to cultivate pet education experts and practical talents for the pet industry by providing a practice-oriented curriculum and field training classes based on theory and experience that can be immediately applied in the industry.

Dongmyung University was the first in the nation to establish a dedicated College of Companion Animals, operating the Department of Companion Animal Health, the Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction, and the Department of Companion Animal Industry (with majors in Pet Food and Companion Animal Industry Design).
