Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 12th that it conducted the first trial operation of the ‘Gwangsan Alliyo Tour Bus,’ which will add new enjoyment to local tourism and travel, the day before.
The ‘Gwangsan Alliyo Tour Bus’ is a themed tour bus designed to promote the diverse attractions of Gwangsan-gu, including its history, ecology, and culture, and to revitalize tourism.
On the day of its debut, 36 citizens who had applied in advance rode the ‘Gwangsan Alliyo Tour Bus’ and traveled a course that included Hwangryonggang Jangnok Wetland, Korea’s first urban national wetland, Songsan Ranch, Wolbong Seowon Confucian Academy, Imgok strawberry farm, and 1913 Songjeong Station Market, enjoying various experiences along the way.
At Songsan Ranch, where sheep and horses run freely across wide meadows, many citizens expressed satisfaction, saying, “It felt like we traveled far away from the city.” Children also had a joyful time feeding and interacting with the sheep.
At Wolbong Seowon, they watched the play ‘Wolbong Romance,’ which depicts the meeting, friendship, and ideological debates between Go Bong Gidae-seung and Toegye Yi Hwang. They also visited an eco-friendly strawberry farm in Imgok-dong and experienced picking strawberries themselves.
Citizens who traveled around with the ‘Gwangsan Alliyo Tour Bus’ for a day said in unison, “We were able to see, experience, and feel the charms of Gwangsan-gu that we didn’t know before,” and “Traveling around Gwangsan-gu by bus was a unique experience that will remain an unforgettable memory.”
Gwangsan-gu plans to discover tourism courses centered on various local attractions and conduct three more trial operations of the ‘Gwangsan Alliyo Tour Bus’ in June, September, and October this year. Information on future trial operations and how to use the service will be provided through Gwangsan-gu’s official social media (SNS) and the Gwangsan-gu ‘Baeurangkke’ website.
