According to the university on the 12th, there were no casualties from the accident. However, it is known that students staying in the dormitory at the time were startled and evacuated in a commotion. The fallen bricks have since been cleared, and the university conducted repairs on the collapsed exterior wall through a contractor on the morning of the 11th.

The dormitory is a six-story building completed in 2009. The bricks fell from the wall section above the gym located on the second floor of the building.

A university official stated, “There were no prior signs such as cracks or debris falling from the wall before the accident,” adding, “An emergency inspection suggests that the exterior wall supports had weakened.” The official further said, “We plan to conduct a detailed safety inspection of the entire dormitory building and check if there are other buildings constructed with the same method to carry out safety inspections.”
