Pohang City Provides Up to 500,000 KRW Support per Team of 5 or More Nationwide
Pohang City is conducting a nationwide reading club activity support project as part of the annual program for the ‘2024 Korea Reading Festival Pohang’.
Any reading club with five or more members nationwide, holding regular monthly meetings (either online or offline) and continuously operating as a grassroots community reading club contributing to spreading the ‘Reading Power Together’ can apply. A total of 20 teams will be selected.
Applications can be made for expenses such as instructor and author invitation fees, and costs for organizing reading-related events, with support up to 500,000 KRW per team. Selected teams must carry out their proposed activities by October this year and submit mandatory materials upon completion.
Applications can be submitted via email to the Pohang City Library starting from the 27th, and detailed information is available on the Korea Reading Festival website’s notice section.
Do Byeong-sul, director of Pohang City Library, stated, “Reading clubs help citizens enhance their capabilities through interpretation and discussion of books while reading together,” adding, “We hope that supporting reading club activities will not only revitalize reading clubs but also contribute to building a voluntary reading environment and ultimately creating a book-reading city.”
