Seodaemun-gu Achieves Top SA Grade for Promises Implementation Plan and Fulfillment in 8th Elected Term

Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 10th that it received the highest Excellent (SA) rating in the '2024 Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure' evaluation recently conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.

With this, the district achieved consecutive Excellent (SA) ratings, following last year's '2023 Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Implementation Plan Evaluation' and this year's pledge implementation and information disclosure evaluation.

The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters evaluated the pledge implementation performance of heads of 226 basic local governments nationwide across five areas: ▲pledge completion ▲2023 pledge goal achievement ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲pledge consistency, and classified the results into six grades from SA to F.

Under the vision of '100% Happiness Seodaemun,' the district is steadily promoting 67 pledge tasks across five major areas.

Specifically, these include ▲the creation of the Hongjecheon Riverside Sensory Space 'Cafe Waterfall,' which achieved over 300,000 cumulative visitors and 1 billion KRW in cumulative sales within one year of opening ▲selection of Yujin Shopping Center and Inwang Market area as candidates for the 'Seoul Metropolitan Area Station Area Revitalization Project' ▲selection of the Seongsan-ro area in front of Yonsei University as the 'Seoul Northwest New Growth Hub Project' ▲and the creation of the 'Ansan Loess Road,' which has attracted over 250,000 citizens since its opening in August last year, demonstrating visible achievements.

Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “Receiving the highest rating in the pledge implementation and resident communication evaluation, following the pledge implementation plan, was possible thanks to the employees doing their best in their respective positions and the support from the residents.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to keep our promises to the residents and make Seodaemun a happier place to live, achieving 100% happiness.”
