NCSoft announced on the 10th that its consolidated financial results for the first quarter of this year recorded sales of 397.9 billion KRW and an operating profit of 25.7 billion KRW. Due to a decline in revenue from its main mobile games, sales decreased by 17% and operating profit fell by 68% compared to the same period last year.
By platform, sales were 249.4 billion KRW from mobile games and 91.5 billion KRW from PC online games. Royalty revenue amounted to 32.7 billion KRW.
In terms of game-specific sales composition, Lineage M accounted for the largest share with 105.1 billion KRW. Lineage W generated 82.9 billion KRW, and Lineage 2M 55.9 billion KRW, with mobile game sales making up 63% of total sales.
PC online game sales showed little change, moving from 91.4 billion KRW to 91.5 billion KRW during the same period. The contribution ratio was 23%, with Guild Wars 2 accounting for the largest portion at 25.4 billion KRW, followed by Lineage at 24.3 billion KRW, Lineage 2 at 23.4 billion KRW, and Aion at 14.3 billion KRW. Throne and Liberty (TL), released in December last year, was excluded from the PC game sales tally.
By region, sales were 259.4 billion KRW in Korea, 69.2 billion KRW in Asia, and 36.6 billion KRW in North America and Europe, respectively. Overseas sales accounted for 35% of total sales.
NCSoft plans to release three new titles this year: Battlecrush, Project BSS, and a new genre game based on existing intellectual property (IP). Additionally, the company intends to continue expanding its global service regions.
