Chosun University and Medino Sign MOU for Development of Cerebrovascular and Neurological Disease Treatments

The head of the LAMP Project Group at Chosun University signed a business agreement on the 30th of last month at Chosun University with Medino Co., Ltd., a specialized bio-venture in stem cell therapeutics (CEO Ju Kyung-min), to mutually cooperate in the development of treatments for cerebrovascular and neurological diseases.

Attending the signing ceremony were Kim Yong-jae, head of the LAMP Project Group; Kim Seok-jun, deputy head of the LAMP Project Group; Jeon Yong-hyun and Park Jeong-hee, professors from the College of Medicine; Lee Heon-woo, professor from the College of Pharmacy; Ju Kyung-min, CEO of Medino; as well as Kim Chung-kwon, research director, and Kim Seong-woo, financial director.


Through this agreement, both organizations agreed to collaborate on ▲ joint research related to the development of treatments for cerebrovascular and neurological diseases ▲ utilization of research and production equipment ▲ fostering and activating personnel exchange ▲ joint participation in government-supported projects ▲ and other joint projects for the development of new technologies.


Kim Yong-jae, head of the LAMP Project Group at Chosun University, stated, "Through this agreement, we expect Chosun University and Medino Co., Ltd. to lead innovative research and technology development in the treatment of brain diseases," adding, "We will continue to cooperate to achieve good results."


Ju Kyung-min, CEO of Medino Co., Ltd., responded, "As a bio-venture preparing for clinical phase 2 trials for neonatal cerebrovascular diseases, we will strive to introduce excellent technologies and foster a close relationship through cooperation with the Chosun University LAMP Project Group for the development of treatments for adult diseases."


Meanwhile, the LAMP Project Group at Chosun University was the only one selected in the Honam region for the Ministry of Education's 2023 LAMP project. By leveraging on-campus research infrastructure and shared collaboration, it plans to develop innovative, ultra-competitive core technologies to overcome geriatric brain diseases and achieve early commercialization, aiming to become the top domestic research institution in the fields of brain and neuroscience and basic medicine.
