Overseas Proof of Concept (PoC) is a project that verifies the feasibility of ideas, products, services, and technologies.

Startup Junkie, established in 2011, is well known for being directly funded by the family of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart in the U.S. It focuses on accelerating technology and high-growth sectors and operates venture capital (VC) funds, contributing to the growth of U.S. startups and the creation of the startup ecosystem. Recently, it has been expanding its cooperation partners to include hotels, convention centers, and travel agencies in the Asia region.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to collaborate in areas such as supporting overseas PoC for domestic tourism companies with innovative technologies and services, jointly planning PoC projects in global tourism industry digital transformation and ESG (environment, social, and governance) fields, and exchanging specialized information.

Kim Dong-il, Head of the Tourism Industry Division at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We are considering Indonesia as the first country to conduct technology and service PoC for tourism companies through this agreement," adding, "We will actively secure business cooperation opportunities with government agencies and companies in the overseas tourism sector to create export models for domestic tourism company services."
