27 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Installed at 11 Locations
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province will significantly expand its zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, including electric vehicle charging facilities and parking lots.
On the 9th, Anseong City announced that it was selected for the Ministry of Environment's '2024 Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition Brand Contest Project' and will install 27 electric vehicle charging stations and 35 parking spaces at 11 locations.
This project is supported by the Ministry of Environment to find various business models targeting local governments and charging operators, aiming to link the supply of electric vehicles and the establishment of charging infrastructure tailored to regional characteristics.
With the selection in the contest project, Anseong City plans to build charging infrastructure in areas with high traffic on National Road No. 38, which has good accessibility. In particular, slow chargers will be installed at two camping decks in Seounsan Natural Recreation Forest to allow campers to charge their vehicles while enjoying camping. The city also plans to equip charging facilities at sports facilities within the jurisdiction such as Iljuk, Juksan, Samjuk, and the Anseong Sports Complex.
Previously, Anseong City was also selected for this contest project last year and installed a total of 46 electric charging facilities at 17 public parking lots and one location at Anseong Matchum Land. At Anseong Matchum Land, charging facilities for transportation-vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and people with disabilities were also provided.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "We will continue to take the lead in realizing carbon neutrality by expanding charging infrastructure and promoting the spread of eco-friendly vehicles."
