Mayor Kim Du-gyeom's Special Lecture: "A Greater Ulsan Has the People of Ulsan"
On the 9th at 7 PM, Ulsan City will hold the opening ceremony of the ‘I Want to Live in Ulsan! 1st Urban Planning Citizen Academy’ at the City Hall Auditorium.
The ‘Urban Planning Citizen Academy’ is an educational program designed to explain the urban outlook and major issues of the 8th elected administration in an easy and engaging way. It was established this year to address citizens' curiosity about urban planning, a field that has been difficult for the public to access.
The opening ceremony will be attended by about 400 people, including Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, City Council Chairman Kim Ki-hwan, and enrolled students, and will feature an opening ceremony, special lectures, and expert talks.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom will deliver a special lecture titled ‘In a Greater Ulsan, There Are Ulsan People,’ sharing the city administration philosophy for Ulsan’s future 60 years with the citizens.
In the expert lecture, Han Sam-geon, director of the Ulsan History Research Institute, will give a talk titled ‘Ulsan Urban Growth!’ exploring Ulsan’s past, its designation as an industrial city, and its urban growth up to the present.
A city official stated, “Through the ‘Urban Planning Citizen Academy,’ we hope to deepen understanding of Ulsan and contemplate the city’s future direction together with citizens, creating a future city of Ulsan where everyone wants to live.”
The 1st Urban Planning Citizen Academy will continue with lectures, including understanding the Ulsan Urban Master Plan, every Thursday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM in four sessions until the 30th of this month. Certificates will be awarded to students who attend three or more sessions.
