Samsung Electronics Launches New System Air Conditioner with AI-Enhanced Energy Efficiency

Providing 'AI Absence Power Saving' Function with Radar Sensor

Samsung Electronics will launch the 2024 model of the 'Bespoke AI Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line' on the 9th, featuring enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. This product strengthens AI functions by newly incorporating a radar sensor into the existing premium design and high-efficiency cooling performance, improving energy efficiency and convenience.

The newly installed radar sensor in the new product supports ▲AI absence power saving ▲motion detection comfort ▲absence monitoring ▲absence drying, among other features. The AI absence power saving function detects human movement through the radar sensor and automatically switches to power-saving operation when it determines that no user is present. It learns the user's absence patterns and gradually switches to power-saving operation more quickly, reducing unnecessary energy consumption.

The motion detection comfort function senses changes in activity levels within the space and automatically adjusts the cooling intensity and airflow. For example, when there is a lot of activity due to cleaning or exercise, it increases the cooling intensity to maintain comfort. Also, when selecting either direct wind or indirect wind, it detects the user's location and directs airflow accordingly.

The radar sensor also provides various additional functions by linking with SmartThings. When absence monitoring is set on SmartThings before going out, the radar sensor sends notifications to the smartphone if it detects movement, allowing users to feel secure even when away from home.

Additionally, when the radar sensor detects absence, it can be set to turn off not only the system air conditioner but also other devices linked to SmartThings, such as TVs and lights. Selecting absence drying automatically sterilizes and dries the inside of the system air conditioner when no one is present, helping to conveniently manage hygiene.

This new product also incorporates all the core features applied to the existing Bespoke Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line. Considering the characteristics of system air conditioners, which are difficult to replace, it uses a high-performance 'ASA' material that is resistant to discoloration.

The 'Edge Lighting,' which creates an atmosphere in the space, features a welcome lighting function that flashes lights when a person enters the space. Users can also choose the lighting color from three options to create their desired ambiance. The brightness is automatically adjusted through an illuminance sensor.

All models of the 2024 Bespoke AI Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line have an energy consumption efficiency rating of Grade 1. Using the 'Wide Wind-Free' cooling function can reduce power consumption by up to 61% compared to the general cooling strong wind mode. The 'AI Saving Mode' reduces power consumption by up to 20% compared to AI comfort operation.

The new product color is Natural White. The retail price ranges from 4.4 million to 13.3 million KRW, depending on the cooling area (65~173㎡).
