Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 8th that it conducted a 'Cleanliness Plogging' event to promote a culture of integrity.
The event, held after the closing ceremony of the 'Seongbuk Residents' Day Commemoration and Residents' Sports Competition' the previous day, was attended by about 3,000 people including Mayor Lee Seung-ro, district officials, sports competition participants, and local residents. 'Plogging' is an environmental protection activity that involves picking up trash while exercising. A resident who participated in the event shared, "It was rewarding to enjoy sports while keeping our neighborhood clean and contributing to making Seongbuk-gu an honest district."
Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, "This Cleanliness Plogging is more than just an environmental cleanup activity; it is an important opportunity for residents and public officials to reflect on and build a culture of integrity together." He added, "We will continue efforts to make Seongbuk-gu a more trusted area through ongoing integrity campaigns and education."
