[One Day Walk] Walking from Joseon Yukdae-ro to Jung Pyeonghae-ro... Yangpyeong 31 Course

14.2km from Yangdong Station Entrance to Jangsu Waterfall

Gyeonggi Dullegil Course 31 is a 14.2 km trail that runs from the entrance of Yangdong Station to the entrance of Jangsu Waterfall. It is a course that takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to walk.

The walk begins along Seokgokcheon Stream. This stream, originating north of Geumwang-ri, Yangdong-myeon, flows in front of Yangdong Station in Ssanghak-ri. Walking along the embankment path, Gyejeongcheon Stream joins from the left, and Danseokcheon Stream flows in from the right. At Semulmeori, the stream swells and its name changes to Samsancheon. Samsancheon passes Samsan Station and continues on to Wonju.

You will also walk the Pyeonghae-gil Yangdong section, which is a restored path of Pyeonghae-ro, one of the Six Great Roads of the Joseon Dynasty. The Six Great Roads of Joseon were six major routes connecting Hanyang and the provinces during the Joseon era. The third route, Pyeonghae-ro, which runs from Hanyang to Pyeonghae-eup in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, passes through Yangpyeong. Gyeonggi Province researched the old routes of the Six Great Roads and newly created the Gyeonggi Old Roads. Pyeonghae-gil is a path based on Pyeonghae-ro.

After leaving the waterside, you will encounter a ginkgo tree. It is a 500-year-old protected tree in Wittaenae Village, Samsan 2-ri. It was designated as a protected tree of Gyeonggi Province in May 1982. It is said that the female tree once produced up to nine gamas of ginkgo nuts.

Walking along the Samsan Village road, you will reach Gomjigigogae Pass between Dangsan and Ungdeoksan Mountains. This is the boundary between Yangpyeong and Yeoju. Near this path is Taekpungdang, a local historic site built by Lee Sik, a civil official of the mid-Joseon period, for the education of his disciples and descendants. Although small in scale, it is a unique architectural structure with a two-story pavilion built together.
