Kim Nam-il, President of Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation, Joins 'Bye Bye Plastic' Campaign

Kim Nam-il, President of the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation, announced on the 8th that he has joined the nationwide campaign to reduce plastic use, "Bye Bye Plastic (BBP)."


The Bye Bye Plastic challenge is a relay campaign aimed at reducing unnecessary plastic use in daily life and practicing responsible consumption.

Kim Nam-il, who participated in the challenge after being nominated by Jang Jae-ho, Director of Pohang Gyeongju Airport, joined the relay campaign along with all employees of the corporation to promote ESG management practices and the spread of eco-friendly lifestyle culture.


Kim Nam-il nominated Byeon Chang-hoon, President of the Korea Maritime Youth Federation Gyeongbuk Branch (President of Daegu Haany University), and Son Myung-soo, a former auctioneer of the Fisheries Cooperative who is active in Pohang and Haenam, as the next participants in the relay campaign.


Kim Nam-il said, "I am honored to participate in this eco-friendly challenge that promotes a positive virtuous cycle," and added, "Our corporation will also take the lead in internalizing ESG management, achieving carbon neutrality, and engaging in eco-friendly activities."


The Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation practices eco-friendly initiatives every year through various tourism resource development and events that combine plogging and upcycling, such as beach combing, the Good Gyeongbuk Travel Challenge, and Aluminum CAN DO IT. In addition, they continue various activities including a carbon neutrality points enrollment campaign for all employees and purchasing innovative products for sterilizing and cleaning tumblers.
