The event was planned to find creative ideas and excellent cases using digital technology and cultural data in the cultural sector. This year, the 'Digital Innovation Contest in Culture, Sports, and Tourism' and the 'Cultural Data Utilization Competition' will be integrated and conducted together.
The contest is divided into three categories: ▲Excellent Cases ▲Ideas ▲Data Analysis. The Excellent Cases and Ideas categories are further divided into two fields: digital innovation and cultural data.
Any Korean citizen can participate in the contest individually or as a team (up to 5 members). However, applicants in the cultural data category must use data provided by institutions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, or data open on the Cultural Public Data Plaza and the Cultural Big Data Platform.
Participants must download the application form and related documents from the official contest website and submit the completed forms by 2 p.m. on July 15.
The award ceremony for the contest will be held in November in conjunction with the '2024 Cultural Digital Innovation Forum.' At the forum, not only the winning works of this contest but also excellent digital innovation cases from affiliated institutions of the Ministry will be showcased in a promotional exhibition hall, and success stories will be shared through sector-specific discussion sessions in the cultural field.
A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "Through this contest, we hope to discover various cases that can lead and promote development in the future era based on new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and digital twins, and to revitalize the digital economy based on these."
