Administrative Welfare Center Visit Registration Until May 31

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) announced on the 8th that the recruitment process for the selection of the "2024 First Half Gijang-gun Scholarship Students" will be conducted until the 31st.

The county recruits scholarship students twice a year, in the first and second halves, according to the "Gijang-gun Scholarship Fund Establishment and Operation Ordinance," to support the academic stability of local students and to nurture talents necessary for regional development.

For university students, scholarships of up to 2 million KRW per person within the range of self-paid tuition are provided in categories such as ▲academic excellence ▲welfare ▲multiple children ▲special talents. For elementary, middle, and high school students, 500,000 KRW per person is provided in the special talent scholarship category.

Eligibility requires that as of the recommendation date by the eup/myeon head (June 3), either the parents or the student themselves must have continuously resided in Gijang-gun for more than one year according to the resident registration, and meet the detailed criteria for each selection process.

Applicants can visit the administrative welfare center of their eup/myeon to submit their applications. The county will conduct evaluations in June and hold a review committee meeting in July to finalize the selection of scholarship students.

Jeong Jong-bok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, "The Gijang-gun scholarship system is designed to support the stable academic progress of local students and to nurture future talents for the development of Gijang-gun," adding, "We will continue to expand funding so that many students can benefit from the scholarships."

For detailed application methods, please check the announcement section on the Gijang-gun website or contact the Education and Youth Division or the eup/myeon administrative welfare center.
