Introduction of Writer Membership System
Backpacker announced on the 8th that all products sold on the handmade platform ‘Idus’ will be shipped for free. They will reduce commission fees for registered artists and implement a tier system.
Idus conducted a total of three meetings, including surveys targeting registered artists, to implement the commission tier system and announced the revised policy based on this.
First, free shipping will be fully implemented, and the sales commission for registered artists will be reduced from the existing 22% to below 15%. Additionally, they will introduce a total of four types of artist membership tiers: ▲Basic ▲Premium ▲Sprout ▲Certified (nationally recognized).
The Basic tier requires a monthly server usage fee of 50,000 KRW, while the Premium tier, which is the existing membership program, and the Sprout tier, which applies to those with monthly sales under 1 million KRW and an average monthly sales of less than 200,000 KRW over the past year, can use the service with a monthly server usage fee of 10,000 KRW.
The Premium and Sprout tiers receive various benefits such as double exposure of works, up to 10% instant discount support, exclusive exhibitions, free advertising points, and support for the first review reward. Additionally, the Sprout tier has a 5% sales commission applied for six months, and nationally certified artists registered as intangible cultural assets, masters, or artisans receive full exemption from sales commissions and server usage fees.
Furthermore, Idus offers all registered artists discounts at the Artist Store selling raw materials at the lowest prices, courier company partnership discounts, free online sales operation training, annual comprehensive health checkup support, psychological counseling connections, and global services including overseas logistics agency and translation services.
