Great Progress in Online Higher Education! Daegu Cyber University Celebrates 22nd Anniversary Ceremony

University Mid-to-Long-Term Development Plan Announces '4 Major Strategic Directions and 6 Development Areas'

Daegu Cyber University held its 22nd anniversary celebration on the 2nd at the Daegu University Lifelong Education Center Small Theater.


At the event, about 80 university members, including Kim Dong-geon, Chairman of the Yeonggwang Foundation, Lee Geun-yong, President, and Kim Hee-sook, President of the Student Council, attended, followed by an awards ceremony.

At the awards ceremony, the following were honored: ▲ Professor Jo Jeong-yeon from the Department of Behavioral Therapy for 35 years of long-term service ▲ Kim Dong-hyun, Team Leader of the Planning and Budget Team, for the Merit Award ▲ Admission Awards to Professor Lim Ji-hyang from the Departments of Speech Therapy, Social Welfare, Korean Multicultural Studies, and Art Therapy, staff member Park Jin-ho, and assistant Kim Seong-ha ▲ Department Awards to the Departments of Speech Therapy and Behavioral Therapy ▲ Department Awards to the Admissions Student Team and General Affairs Team of the Office of Administration ▲ Model Awards to Professor Hong Ju-yeon from the Department of Play Therapy, Team Leader Cha Jae-soon of the Academic Affairs Team, staff member Park Ji-min of the Finance Team, and staff member Kim Yoon-jung of the Regional Learning Center.


Daegu Cyber University announced its mid-term development plan (2024?2027) UCAN+ outlining four strategic directions: ▲ Future-oriented Educational Innovation ▲ Improvement of Management Efficiency ▲ Strengthening Glocal Competencies ▲ Enhancing University Value, and six development areas: ▲ Leading Cyber Education ▲ Innovation of Management Infrastructure ▲ Strengthening Global Competencies ▲ Enhancing Regional Community Capabilities ▲ Reestablishing Specialization ▲ Expanding Campus Infrastructure.


At the commemorative ceremony, Professor Kim Jeong-gwon, Professor Emeritus of Daegu University, delivered a special invited lecture on the thoughts and founding philosophy of Reverend Lee Young-sik, the founder of the Yeonggwang Foundation, inspiring the university members with the founding spirit of the university.


Lee Geun-yong, President of Daegu Cyber University, said, “Despite the challenging conditions in the education market, the university has steadily grown since its establishment, with the admission application rate increasing compared to the previous year. Let us all take pride and honor in our work and continue to innovate the university and diversify education to solidify our status and position as a prestigious cyber university.”
