Lee Jae-myung Takes Hospitalization Leave from 9th to 15th for Treatment... "Cannot Disclose Symptoms or Diagnosis"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, will take a one-week leave from the 9th to the 15th for hospital treatment.

The Democratic Party's Public Relations Office announced on the afternoon of the 7th, stating, "Leader Lee will take a leave to receive treatment that was postponed due to the general election."

They added, "Leader Lee is scheduled to resume his regular duties as party leader starting from the 16th."

A representative from Lee's side said, "We cannot disclose the specific illness, but with treatment, normal activities will be possible," and added, "It is unrelated to the stabbing incident earlier this year."

Another official said, "Something was found in his body that requires a simple procedure," and added, "If urgent party matters arise, Leader Lee himself will be able to approve them directly."

Due to Lee's leave, some related court schedules are also expected to be affected. Lee has been attending court hearings about twice a week.
