Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 'Our Village Delivery Team Launch Ceremony'

On the 7th at 1 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2024 Our Neighborhood Tax Notice Delivery Leaders Inauguration Ceremony' held in the small conference room on the 5th floor of Nowon-gu Office in Seoul.

The 'Our Neighborhood Tax Notice Delivery Leader' is a service where one leader aged 60 or older, selected from each dong, personally delivers local tax delinquency notices. It was first implemented nationwide in March last year to provide high-quality, sustainable jobs for seniors and to resolve various issues caused by undelivered paper tax notices.

For 2024, 19 representatives from each dong participating as Our Neighborhood Tax Notice Delivery Leaders include 11 in their 60s and 8 in their 70s. They will engage in direct delivery of delinquency notices and verification of the residence status of delinquent taxpayers. Through delivering notices, they will also serve as gatekeepers to identify welfare blind spots.

The event was attended by Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, and 19 delivery leaders representing each dong. The program proceeded in the order of opening, project progress report, introduction of delivery leaders and viewing of activity videos, oath-taking, greetings, and commemorative photo session.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, "'Our Neighborhood Delivery Leaders' is a comprehensive project combining jobs, welfare, and administrative efficiency," adding, "We will continue to actively discover new projects to enhance and return the value of taxes to our residents."
