Villa Staircase and Parking Used as Personal Storage... Frustration with Inconsiderate Chinese Neighbors

Not only obstructing passage but also emitting a foul odor
Dust-covered luggage left unattended for a long time

A story about suffering due to Chinese neighbors using villa stairs and parking lots as personal storage has become a hot topic among netizens. On the 3rd, a post was uploaded on the online car community Bobae Dream's Instagram, sharing discomfort caused by Chinese neighbors. The writer, Mr. A, posted photos along with the message, "Chinese villa neighbors leave their belongings and trash on the stairs and parking lot, causing bad odors, blocking passage, and preventing parking."

He complained, "Some say just move out, but moving is not easy," adding, "True welfare is using government authority to resolve such inconveniences. If the law does not allow it, lawmakers should create one." The photos attached to Mr. A's story showed the villa stairs and parking lot filled with all kinds of belongings occupying the space.

The items appear to have been left for a long time, covered in dust. Netizens responded with comments such as, "Leaving items on stairs violates fire safety laws, doesn't it?" "You should report it to the fire station," "It's scarier that people think this is acceptable in Korea," and "Just looking at the photos makes me feel sick."

According to netizens, under the current Fire Safety Act, stacking objects or placing obstacles around evacuation facilities, fire compartments, and fire prevention facilities can result in fines of up to 1 million KRW for the first offense, 2 million KRW for the second, and 3 million KRW for the third. However, hallways and stairs in multi-family houses, row houses, and multi-unit houses under five floors are not classified as specific fire safety targets, so fines cannot be imposed.
