Na Kyung-won: "A Political Situation with Separate Presidents in Yongsan and Yeouido"

Channel A Radio 'Political Signal' Appearance
"Democratic Party's 'Lee Jae-myung's One-Party System'"

Na Kyung-won, the elected member of the People Power Party for Seoul Dongjak-eul, lamented on the 6th, referring to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, as the "Yeouido President," saying, "Isn't this a political situation where there is a Yongsan President and a separate Yeouido President?"

On the 6th, Na appeared on Channel A radio's "Political Signal" and questioned, "Even in the floor leader election, with a single candidate and a single winner, the so-called 'Lee Jae-myung 1-party' Democratic Party, are we not at least the opposition inside Yeouido?" She pointed out that with the election of Park Chan-dae as the new floor leader, the Democratic Party, which has become more strongly pro-Lee, has become an undeniable "Lee Jae-myung 1-party system." Park, classified as a hardline pro-Lee faction member, had previously announced that he would strengthen the level of opposition attacks against the Yoon Seok-youl administration in a two-top system with Lee Jae-myung at the opening of the 22nd National Assembly.

Regarding the role of the new floor leader, she said, "To respond to the Democratic Party, which intends to push through legislation so strongly, we need to have both toughness and flexibility at the same time," adding, "A two-track approach of negotiation and struggle, flexibility and toughness, and the courage to do what must be done are necessary."

Currently, in the People Power Party floor leader election, four-term lawmaker Lee Jong-bae and three-term lawmakers Chu Kyung-ho and Song Seok-jun have declared their candidacies. Na said, "All three are policy experts and former civil service exam passers. So I have some expectations."

Regarding her own candidacy for party leader, she said, "So far, the capabilities of the conservative party have not been fully consolidated, and I am thinking about how to unite those capabilities," adding, "But I am not yet at the stage of drawing a picture like 'Do I have to do something in this concern?'"

The People Power Party is scheduled to hold the floor leader election on the 9th.
