Homeplus and the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute announced on the 6th that the online ‘Senior Market’ promotional event, launched on the 25th of last month ahead of Family Month, sold out within a day.
To celebrate Family Month in May, Homeplus and the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute held a buy-one-get-one-free event on all senior-produced products listed in the online ‘Senior Market’. Thanks to strong customer response, products directly made by seniors such as sesame oil, green onion kimchi, cheonggukjang, seaweed crisps, scorched rice, energy bars, and cutting boards sold out within a day.
As a result of this event, sales of the ‘Senior Market’ increased approximately 70 times compared to the previous month. The annual average sales volume of products listed in the ‘Senior Market’ exceeds 10,000 units.
The ‘Senior Market’ is an online channel selling senior-produced products, operated through a collaboration between Homeplus and the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It was planned to promote the purchase of senior-produced goods made by the senior job market-type business group under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The ‘Senior Market’ was established in the Homeplus online ‘Parcel Delivery’ section, selling various foods such as sesame oil, seafood, kimchi, bakery products, rice cakes, as well as clothing and handicrafts, all directly made by seniors.
