Started in 2020, the contest marked its 5th edition in 2024, targeting community child centers located in Gyeongbuk to enhance local interest. The theme was ‘Introducing Our Hometown,’ and the contest was divided into categories for lower grades (ages 7 to 3rd grade elementary), upper grades (4th to 6th grade elementary), middle and high school students, and workers.

This year’s contest saw participation from 251 individuals across 26 community child centers, selecting a total of 41 winners: 3 Grand Prize winners, 7 Excellence Award winners, 12 Merit Award winners, 17 Encouragement Award winners, and 2 Special Award winners.

Notably, under the theme ‘Introducing Our Region,’ the submitted drawings featured various subjects such as tourist attractions, local specialties, and notable figures from Gyeongbuk, serving as an opportunity to foster local pride.

Kwon Tae-il, Director of Happy Giver, said, “We hope this opportunity increases children’s interest in their local communities and helps them grow into talents who contribute to their communities.” He added, “We are grateful to the community child centers in Gyeongbuk and the Gyeongbuk Regional Support Group for working together on-site throughout the contest.”

Kwon Hyun-jin, Head of the Gyeongbuk Regional Support Group for Community Child Centers, expressed, “We thank Happy Giver for providing opportunities for cultural and artistic expression to community child centers in Gyeongbuk every year through diverse and new contest themes.”

Happy Giver actively engages in various social contributions by reaching out to those in need, including low-income families, single mothers, people with disabilities, and at-risk youth, providing donations and regular support.
