The U.S. Department of Labor announced on the 3rd (local time) that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 175,000 in April. This figure falls short of both the previous month's new employment (315,000) and market expectations (238,000).
The unemployment rate in April rose slightly to 3.9% compared to 3.8% in the previous month, also exceeding experts' forecast of 3.8%.
