"Continuing Various Cultural Events and Social Contributions"
UNIST (President Yong-Hoon Lee) piano club ‘Pianista’ visited Hyejinwon, a social welfare facility in Ulju-gun, on May 3rd to present a musical gift in celebration of Family Month.
This event was organized for children and people with disabilities residing at Hyejinwon. Established in 2001, Hyejinwon is a welfare facility for people with severe disabilities, currently housing about 40 residents.
‘Pianista’ voluntarily prepared this event for the children at Hyejinwon. They performed a variety of music genres, ranging from classical pieces to popular songs, to share memorable moments.
Kim Tae-baek, director of Hyejinwon, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We sincerely thank the UNIST piano club students for holding such a wonderful concert. This special experience will bring great joy and unforgettable memories to our residents.”
Lee In-kyung, professor of the Humanities Department at UNIST and advisor to Pianista, said, “I am glad that through music we could deliver warmth and hope to those around us, even if just a little. We hope to continue such meaningful activities in the future.”
UNIST is actively engaged in various social contribution activities to coexist with the local community. In particular, it is presenting a model case of community solidarity together with Hyejinwon.
A university official stated, “We plan to expand communication channels to have a positive impact on the local community through diverse cultural events and social contribution activities.”
