Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will form a 'Malicious Civil Complaint Response Team (T/F)' to support public officials suffering from mental and physical distress due to malicious complaints such as verbal abuse and assault, and will begin operations from the 3rd.

When a report of malicious complaint damage is received, the response team’s general division first conducts an on-site investigation of the complaint and interviews the responsible staff to help resolve the issue.

If the complaint is not resolved through the team's mediation, the institution will consider legal action, and in case of legal response, will support legal consultation fees and other expenses. In addition, psychological counseling and medical expenses will be provided for the responsible staff.

Jung In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang City, stated, “We will firmly respond to illegal and malicious complaints in accordance with legal regulations so that public officials can work with a sense of mission and pride without fear of malicious complaints.”
