"I am Han Dong-hoon"... Kim Heung-guk, who said "It's a pity for the People Power Party," lights up after receiving a call

"Former Commissioner Han Says, 'Let's Meet When You Get Better'"

Singer Kim Heung-guk revealed that he received a thank-you message from Han Dong-hoon, former Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party. Kim Heung-guk had actively supported People Power Party candidates during the 22nd general election.

On the 2nd, Kim appeared on TV Chosun's YouTube channel 'Gang Punch' and said, "I received a call from an unknown number, and then a message came saying, 'Hello, is this Mr. Kim Heung-guk? I am Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman.'"

He continued, "After reading the message, I called back. When I said, 'This is Kim Heung-guk,' (Han) said, 'You worked hard to help our party, and I should have contacted you first, but I was busy handling party affairs and couldn’t get in touch. Also, I resigned immediately, so I couldn’t take care of you properly. I’m sorry. When you get better, I will contact you and meet you then.'"

Kim Heung-guk said, "For me, receiving a message from (former Chairman) Han is truly a grateful thing," and praised him as "a very kind person." He added his catchphrase, "I am really touched."

Earlier, on the 24th of last month, Kim expressed his disappointment toward the People Power Party during an appearance on Channel A’s YouTube channel. He said, "After the general election, there was no contact from the party at all. I risked my life campaigning, but there was no word like 'You worked hard, let’s have a meal together' or anything."

As his remarks spread online and became a hot topic, it was reported that several figures within the ruling party later called to express their thanks. Kim also revealed on a YTN radio broadcast the day before that he had received contacts not only from People Power Party winners but also from those who lost.

Meanwhile, Kim Heung-guk had openly supported the ruling party during the April 10 general election and actively campaigned for them. He even used his YouTube channel as a promotional platform for the party. Even after the election ended in a crushing defeat for the ruling party, he posted videos on YouTube encouraging them, saying, "Former Chairman Han traveled across the country and worked very hard. It must be painful that things didn’t go as expected, but I hope he achieves even greater things later."

In this regard, Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, expressed his gratitude on Facebook on the 15th of last month, saying, "(Kim Heung-guk) must have knowingly taken a loss, but as a kind of celebrity, it wouldn’t have been easy to stand on our side and act like that."
