Dong-Eui Science University and Busan City, Special Lecture on 'Collaborative Governance School with University Students'

For Students of Police Security Administration and Fire Safety Management Departments

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) held a special lecture titled "Understanding Busan City's Policy Participation System and Governance" on April 29 for students of the Police Protection Administration Department and Fire Safety Management Department at the Busan City Autonomy and Decentralization Division.

Busan City's "2024 Governance School with University Students" was organized to raise university students' awareness of governance, help them understand the local community, and encourage youth interest and participation in regional issues and city administration.

In this special lecture, key Busan city policies and youth policies such as the city's online citizen participation platform "Citizen Open Maru," the "Local Governance-type Resident Participation Budget System," and "Busan, a Happy 15-Minute City for Citizens" were systematically introduced and explained.

Park Cheong-il, Conflict Coordinator of Busan City, who conducted the lecture, stated, "I hope this serves as an opportunity for students to develop a foundation for public-private governance by understanding the process of taking an interest in local issues and participating in city administration."

Lee Byung-kyu, head of the Police Protection Administration Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, "Since the Police Protection Administration Department and Fire Safety Management Department nurture talents who will advance into public service fields, this special lecture was a great opportunity for students to understand how city policies are planned and implemented."
