The Democratic Party to Release General Election White Paper...Surveying Reporters and Aides for Cause Analysis

The People Power Party's general election white paper task force (TF) has decided to conduct a survey not only among candidates but also among party-affiliated reporters and all National Assembly members' aides to evaluate the general election results and compile the white paper.

On the 2nd, Cho Jeong-hoon, head of the party's general election white paper TF, told reporters at the National Assembly, "To more accurately identify the causes of the election defeat, we have decided to conduct a detailed survey," adding, "We will conduct the survey with all 254 general election candidates, about 240 party secretariat members, approximately 680 aides of the 21st National Assembly members, and all reporters affiliated with the People Power Party."

Cho said, "Since last week, through preparatory meetings, almost all of the diverse and candid questions from all 18 TF members have been included in the survey," and added, "We plan to evaluate the appropriateness of candidate nominations, the Lee-Jo judgment theory (Lee Jae-myung and Cho Kuk), the Mega City initiative, how our pledges were received, as well as whether our response was appropriate against the Democratic Party's attack based on the regime judgment theory."

The survey will be conducted via confidential text messages and is expected to start as early as tomorrow or next Monday. The results will be announced within a week.

The People Power Party's general election white paper TF also plans to conduct in-depth interviews with individuals involved in decision-making during the general election. Cho emphasized, "If necessary, we intend to conduct confidential in-depth interviews with the Chairperson of the Nomination Committee, the Chairperson of the Emergency Response Committee, the Director of the Yeouido Research Institute, and officials from the Presidential Office to incorporate diverse perspectives and opinions within the party."

Cho stated, "While publishing the book will take more time, our goal is to complete the main contents and detailed reform plans by mid-June," and added, "We aim to present the reform plans at the party convention expected at the end of June or early July, creating a forum to discuss which candidate can best lead the party's reform."
