The KOSPI rose due to simultaneous net buying by foreigners and institutions.
On the 30th, the KOSPI closed at 2692.06, up 4.62 points (0.17%) from the previous trading day.
On that day, the KOSPI rose to the 2710 level during the session, recovering the 2700 level. However, it gave up the gains near the end of the session and eventually closed around the 2690 level.
By investor type, individuals were net sellers with 527.6 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions were net buyers with 235.9 billion KRW and 284.1 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, pharmaceuticals and chemicals rose more than 1%. Additionally, electrical and electronics, construction, and manufacturing also increased. On the other hand, transportation equipment, precision machinery, and machinery fell more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 77,500 KRW, up 800 KRW (1.04%) from the previous trading day. Samsung SDI rose 3.09%, and LG Energy Solution and Celltrion both increased by more than 2%. Meanwhile, KB Financial fell 1.31%.
On that day, 442 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, 410 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 80 stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ recorded 868.93, down 0.79 points (0.09%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions were net sellers with 62.4 billion KRW and 109.7 billion KRW, respectively. In contrast, individuals were net buyers with 191.4 billion KRW.
By sector, broadcasting services and construction fell more than 1%. Semiconductors, transportation equipment parts, computer services, and telecommunications equipment also declined. On the other hand, textiles and apparel rose 1.89%, and information devices, non-metallics, pharmaceuticals, and software showed slight increases.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 238,500 KRW, down 500 KRW (0.21%) from the previous trading day. Enchem and Hugel fell more than 4%, and Lino Industrial, HPSP, and EO Technics dropped more than 1%. Conversely, Celltrion Pharm rose 4.23%, and HLB, Rainbow Robotics, and Ligand Chem Bio increased by more than 1%.
On that day in the KOSDAQ, a total of 817 stocks rose, including two stocks hitting the upper limit: SkyMoon Technology and Ppia. Meanwhile, 686 stocks declined, including Astr which hit the lower limit. 119 stocks remained unchanged.
