Top Tier for 2 Consecutive Years... Secured 151 Million Won in Financial Incentives
Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) has achieved the remarkable feat of ranking first among county-level units in Jeollanam-do in the government joint evaluation, securing a top position for two consecutive years.
On the 30th, Hwasun-gun announced that it secured 151 million KRW in financial incentives by ranking first among county-level units in Jeollanam-do (overall 2nd place) in the '2024 Government Joint Evaluation (2023 performance)' conducted by Jeollanam-do.
The Government Joint Evaluation, conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, is a comprehensive evaluation of local governments based on national delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies. The Ministry evaluates 17 cities and provinces nationwide, and Jeollanam-do evaluates 22 cities and counties within the province.
Hwasun-gun received excellent results with 1st place for two consecutive years in qualitative indicators and 2nd place in quantitative indicators across a total of 93 indicators (18 qualitative, 75 quantitative).
In particular, in the qualitative indicator evaluation, 17 out of 18 indicators were selected as exemplary cases, demonstrating the excellence of Hwasun-gun’s policies. These included ▲ full occupancy rental housing for youth and newlyweds in Hwasun-gun ▲ establishment of a multicultural team dedicated to nationals ▲ operation of a reading points system ▲ establishment of the WHO Global Bio Hwasun Campus ▲ and QR code access to national memorial facilities.
Gu Bok-gyu, Governor of Hwasun-gun, said, “Achieving first place overall last year and second place this year for two consecutive years is thanks to the active efforts and outstanding capabilities of our staff. We will continue to do our best with public officials to promote policies that satisfy regional development and local residents.”
Meanwhile, entering the 8th term of local autonomy, Hwasun-gun was selected as the best institution by ranking first among 82 counties nationwide in the ‘2023 Local Government Innovation Evaluation.’ It has also achieved excellent results in various institutional evaluations, including receiving the highest ‘A’ grade in the 2023 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation.
