Muan County Council and Damyang County Council Hold Mutual Donation Ceremony for Hometown Love

The 2nd Annual Mutual Donation Ceremony This Year Contributes to the Activation of the Hometown Love Donation Program

The Jeonnam Muan County Council (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) held a mutual donation ceremony with the Damyang County Council (Chairman Choi Yong-man) on the 30th to ensure the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System and promote regional mutual development.

According to the Muan County Council, the donation ceremony, held for the second time today following last year, was attended by about 40 people including the chairmen, council members, and staff of both Muan and Damyang County Councils. A total of 60 participants, consisting of 30 members and staff from each institution, donated 3 million won each to their respective local governments, expressing their love for their hometowns.

Kim Kyung-hyun, chairman of the Muan County Council, said, “I thank the council members and staff who participated in the Hometown Love Donation System,” adding, “I hope that this second donation ceremony will serve as an opportunity to further activate the Hometown Love Donation System and that Muan and Damyang will become sustainable partners through continuous exchange and cooperation.”

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million won annually to local governments (metropolitan or basic) other than their place of residence. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and amounts exceeding that receive a 16.5% tax credit. Donors are provided with thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
