Eom Insuk Who Committed Brutal Crimes for 5 Years Since 2000

The face of Eom In-suk, the perpetrator of the so-called 'Eom Yeoin serial murder case,' who committed brutal crimes over five years from 2000 to claim insurance money, has been revealed for the first time in 24 years.
On the 29th, a teaser video for the documentary "She Killed," jointly produced by LG Uplus's STUDIO X+U and MBC, was released. The video introduces cases such as the 'Gapyeong Valley Murder Case (Lee Eun-hae),' 'Serial Insurance Murder Case (Eom In-suk),' 'Incheon Elementary Student Murder Case,' 'Jeju Ex-Husband Murder Case (Go Yoo-jeong),' and 'Park Chorong Chorong Bitnari Abduction and Murder Case (Jeon Hyun-joo),' showing the faces of female criminals.

In particular, this is the first time Eom In-suk's face has been revealed. During the investigation of the Eom In-suk case, only the perpetrator's gender, surname, and age were disclosed, so Eom In-suk was referred to as 'Eom Yeoin' for a while. However, in the 2022 Channel A crime docu-thriller "Black: I Saw the Devil," Officer Oh Hu-geun of Gangnam Police Station, who was in charge of Eom In-suk at the time, recalled, "She was a demure, beautiful woman who looked like a wealthy family's daughter, almost like a TV actress." Profiler Kwon Il-yong, who met Eom In-suk in person, also remembered, "Despite her brutal acts, she had a trustworthy face. She was a criminal who used her polite manner and the 'aura' she possessed as weapons."
Eom In-suk, an insurance planner, committed a series of brutal crimes including serial murder, assault on a family member, serious injury, and arson resulting in death against a total of 10 people from 2000 to 2005. Among them, three people died. It is known that Eom In-suk showed a perfect psychopathic tendency, scoring a full 40 points on the psychopathy diagnosis.
In particular, Eom In-suk administered antidepressants to her first husband to make him lose consciousness, then inflicted injuries such as facial burns and abdominal stab wounds. After two years of ongoing crimes, her first husband, who was suffering, eventually died from complications of gangrene in his limbs. Afterwards, Eom In-suk continued the same method of crime against her second husband, who also eventually died. Eom In-suk collected a large amount of insurance money after killing her husbands.
Her immediate family members were also targets of her crimes. Eom In-suk caused blindness to her biological brother by using hydrochloric acid and injected her biological mother with needles. She also set fire to the house of a housekeeper who helped her, resulting in the death of the housekeeper's husband. Later, when Eom In-suk's younger brother came to the police station and testified, "Everyone around my sister either dies or gets hurt," the police launched a full-scale investigation, which eventually uncovered her crimes. In 2006, the court sentenced Eom In-suk to life imprisonment, and she is currently serving her sentence at Cheongju Women's Prison.
