‘Hamyang Sansam Festival’ Gains Popularity with Events and Experiences

The Hamyang Sansam Festival, a representative festival of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, won the Grand Prize in the Popularity category at the Korea Best Festival Awards held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 in Busan from the 26th to the 28th during the Korea Representative Festival Expo.

The Korea Best Festival Awards aim to promote the development of local festivals, with 116 participating organizations including local governments and companies nationwide, operating 283 booths. Judges of the Korea Representative Festival Expo visited promotional booths of city and county festivals to select outstanding local festivals based on five categories: marketing, content, booth operation, and popularity, among others.

The county participated in this Korea Representative Festival Expo and received the Grand Prize in the Popularity category by gaining the most popularity from on-site visitors.

Aligned with the theme of the 19th Hamyang Sansam Festival, "Fall in Love with Hamyang, Fall for Sansam," the booth was designed to look like a field of red blooming Sansam flowers, featuring unique events related to Sansam such as a Sansam digging experience photo zone and shouting "I found Sansam~!" which attracted visitors' attention.

Additionally, various hands-on experiences were offered, including making paper dolls of the Sansam festival characters Sani and Sami, and Sansam flower hairpins. Promotional items and processed Sansam products were given to participants of the "I found Sansam~!!" event and visitors, providing diverse attractions and entertainment for attendees.

At the mascot contest held after the Korea Best Festival Awards ceremony, Sani, the mascot of the Hamyang Sansam Festival, actively promoted the 19th Hamyang Sansam Festival by performing an enthusiastic dance.

Kim Bok-su, head of the Sansam Anti-aging Division, said, "Based on the experiences and achievements gained at the festival expo where representative festivals from each region gather, we will focus on attracting tourists nationwide," adding, "We will strive for the successful hosting of the 19th Hamyang Sansam Festival through active promotion and well-prepared festival arrangements."

This year, the 19th Hamyang Sansam Festival will be held for seven days from October 3 to 9 at Sangnim Park in Hamyang.
