Mayor Hong expressed his gratitude for the hard work and dedication of workers, stating, “Changwon has led Korea’s industrialization and established itself as a cradle of the machinery industry and defense industry solely because of the courage and sweat of the workers.”

He continued, “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the designation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, making it even more meaningful. As we prepare for the next 50 years, we will carefully ensure that the value of labor is truly respected.”

Dear workers of Changwon Special City! And your families!

On this meaningful ‘Labor Day,’ I extend my heartfelt thanks and respect for your hard work and the dedication of your families.

Our Changwon has led Korea’s industrialization and established itself as a cradle of the machinery industry and defense industry solely as a result of your courage and sweat.

This year is especially significant as it marks the 50th anniversary of the designation of the Changwon National Industrial Complex.

Building on the 50 years of progress we have achieved together with you, this year also represents a new starting point to lead Korea’s next 50 years of the future.

As we create the new ‘Changwon Industrial Innovation Park,’ we will carefully ensure that the value of labor is truly respected.

In particular, we will spare no effort or attention to eliminate blind spots in protection and improve welfare for socially vulnerable groups.

Furthermore, we will do our best to build a city where work is enjoyable with guaranteed safe daily life, and to establish a global digital, educational, and cultural city that enhances quality of life.
