Mokpo Chamber President Jeong Hyuntaek Joins Mokpo National University Medical School Attraction Relay Challenge

"The 34 Years of Effort to Attract a Medical School Must Not Be in Vain"

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek) announced on the 30th that it participated in the Mokpo City SNS relay challenge to attract the Mokpo National University College of Medicine, a 34-year-long cherished project in the western region of Jeollanam-do, and carried out a campaign.


Following the relay campaign of Song Hacheol, President of Mokpo National University, Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek, who was nominated as the next participant, held a placard wishing for the attraction of the Mokpo National University College of Medicine along with executives and employees, shouting slogans such as “34 years of long-cherished hope in the western region of Jeollanam-do, attracting the Mokpo National University College of Medicine.”

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the first in Jeollanam-do 34 years ago to propose the establishment of the Mokpo National University College of Medicine to the government and has since conducted several government petition activities. On the 5th, it issued a statement supporting the attraction of the medical school, and on the 17th, it held a resolution meeting of businesspeople, taking the lead and raising its voice to attract the Mokpo National University College of Medicine.


Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek said, “The 34 years of effort to attract the medical school must not be in vain,” adding, “We will unite the power of businesspeople to ensure that the College of Medicine is definitely established at Mokpo National University and continue to work hard.”


Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek nominated Shin Hyundae, CEO of HD Hyundai Samho Co., Ltd., and Lee Jonggeun, CEO of Daehan Ceramics Co., Ltd., as the next participants in the relay campaign.
