The BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) Hwayangyeonhwa universe-based original drama ‘YOUTH’ has successfully completed its pre-sale of viewing rights over about a month and is now entering the main sale phase. Chorokbaem Media announced on the 30th that it will begin the full-scale sale of viewing rights for the drama YOUTH.
The drama YOUTH is a joint production by Chorokbaem Media and HYBE, in collaboration with Finger Labs. It attracted significant attention not only in the entertainment industry but also in the blockchain industry as it attempted the world's first content distribution method applying Web 3.0 technology.
The pre-sale of YOUTH, which started on the 2nd, received great response in domestic and international markets due to the anticipation for the content itself as well as its innovative approach. During the pre-sale period, Chorokbaem Media actively conducted global marketing activities by running advertisements on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter in five major countries including Korea, Japan, the United States, and Indonesia.
Despite the drama not being officially released yet, the company explained that there was high anticipation for the performances of the seven boys leading the story?Kim Hwan (Seo Ji-hoon), Min Se-in (Noh Jong-hyun), Jung Ho-soo (Ahn Ji-ho), Kim Do-gun (Seo Young-joo), Park Ha-ru (Kim Yoon-woo), Kim Joo-an (Jung Woo-jin), Jeon Je-ha (Jeon Jin-seo)?as well as the outstanding supporting actors Kim Chang-jun (Jung Sung-il) and Song Jun-ho (Kim Nam-hee).
YOUTH, produced as a total of 12 episodes, is divided into three parts, each consisting of four episodes. The first part (episodes 1 to 4) will be available starting April 30, the second part (episodes 5 to 8) on May 7, and the final third part (episodes 9 to 12) on May 14. Sales will proceed weekly on Tuesdays over three weeks, and viewers can watch immediately after purchasing the viewing rights.
A representative from Chorokbaem Media stated, “Thanks to close collaboration among affiliated companies, we were able to successfully complete the pre-sale and marketing,” adding, “The pre-sale that began on the 2nd has been positively evaluated as laying the foundation for the successful box office performance of the main drama.”
He continued, “Especially during the global marketing activities, BTS demonstrated their unique presence and popularity by becoming the first to top the 5-year cumulative singles ranking on Japan’s Oricon chart, which led us to conduct aggressive promotional activities in Japan accordingly,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that the enthusiasm from the pre-sale continues through the main sale and strive to achieve meaningful results.”
Meanwhile, the drama YOUTH can be purchased on the platform ‘Xclusive,’ developed by Finger Labs in collaboration with Chorokbaem Media.
