It has been revealed that 2,390 young people applied for the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Youth Gap Year Program,’ which supports youth in challenging themselves with what they want to do, resulting in a high competition rate of 3 to 1.
Earlier, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Job Foundation announced that they would recruit 800 young participants for the Gyeonggi Youth Gap Year Program from April 1 to 26 and accepted applications.
After last year’s project, Gyeonggi Province gathered positive feedback from young people and initially recruited 880 participants. Then, through the ‘Exploration and Discovery’ program, which is a project design process for the selected youth, the final 800 project participants are confirmed.
This year’s Gyeonggi Youth Gap Year Program participants will receive a project support fund of 5 million KRW per person, along with expert mentoring by field, capacity-building education, and job aptitude tests. Additionally, a new ‘Opportunity Plus’ program will be introduced to help participants continue their challenges after the program ends.
The Gyeonggi Job Foundation will conduct the first document screening from May 7 to 9, announce the first successful candidates on May 13, conduct the second interview screening from May 20 to 22, and announce the final selected participants on May 24.
