Launch of Gangseo-gu Resident Participatory Budget Committee

Launch of Gangseo-gu Resident Participatory Budget Committee

The 8th Resident Participatory Budget Committee, where residents directly participate in budgeting for current projects and policies in Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon), was launched on the 29th.

On the same day at 3 PM, the district held an appointment ceremony in the main conference room of the district office to mark the official start of the Resident Participatory Budget Committee's activities.

The appointment ceremony was attended by about 30 people, including District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon and committee members, and proceeded in the order of ▲ awarding appointment certificates to new members ▲ introducing the members ▲ sharing the committee's operational directions.

The Resident Participatory Budget Committee consists of 37 resident representatives across three subcommittees: Administrative Finance, Future Welfare, and Urban Transportation. They will engage in overall activities related to the resident participatory budget projects, including reviewing budget projects, monitoring projects, and discovering resident-proposed projects.

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “The Resident Participatory Budget Committee is especially meaningful as it discovers projects necessary for residents and directly participates in budgeting. Since the budget is limited, I ask for much wisdom and valuable opinions so that the funds can be used for life-oriented projects that many residents can feel the impact of.”
