Cooperation in the Nuclear Field?
"Biased and Baseless Speculation"
Only Trade Development Talks Promoted
It has been reported that a North Korean delegation visited Tehran, Iran, recently for an economic event.
Major foreign media outlets, including Bloomberg, reported on the 29th (local time) that the North Korean delegation attended an export fair.
Naser Kanaani, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a briefing that the North Korean delegation, led by North Korean Minister of External Economic Relations Yoon Jung-ho, arrived in Tehran last week. Kanaani explained that the North Korean delegation attended the 6th Export Fair, which opened on the 27th, and held talks with both government and private sectors regarding the development of trade between the two countries.
However, regarding speculation that the North Korean delegation's visit to Iran was aimed at seeking military cooperation, including in the nuclear field, he drew a line, calling it "biased and unfounded speculation."
On the 24th, North Korea's Korean Central News Agency reported, "The delegation from the Ministry of External Economic Relations, led by Minister Yoon Jung-ho, departed Pyongyang by plane on the 23rd to visit Iran."
