"This Is Mom and Dad's Company!" HD Hyundai Holds 'Family Invitation Event' for Employees

HD Hyundai recently announced on the 29th that it held a special event by inviting the spouses and children of its employees to the Pangyo Global R&D Center (GRC).

HD Hyundai organized this event to invite employees' families to the company so that spouses and parents could directly experience their workplace and strengthen family bonds through various experiential activities. Throughout April, HD Hyundai invited a total of 80 families to the GRC every Saturday.

The event consisted of various programs including ▲GRC tour ▲family photo sessions ▲outdoor magic show ▲Korea Job World career experience. Among these, the program that attracted the most interest from participating families was the GRC tour.

The families started on the first floor where models of future ships and excavators were displayed, then toured common areas such as the in-house library and founder memorial space, as well as the actual office spaces where employees work.

In particular, during the final week's event, a magic show was held at the outdoor performance venue located outside the GRC. Not only the families of employees who participated in the event but also citizens of Seongnam watched the performance. HD Hyundai contributes to the local community by opening some of the GRC facilities, including the outdoor performance venue, to the public to support the cultural life of Seongnam citizens.

Jiheo Bae (child of Kang Nam-suk, Senior Researcher at HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering’s Ship Electrical Research Lab), who participated in the event, said, "I usually only see my mom going to work every day, but coming to the actual workplace was really amazing and great," adding, "I am very proud that my mom works at such a wonderful place."

An HD Hyundai official said, "It is because of the support and encouragement from the families of our employees that HD Hyundai has been able to grow to this point," and added, "We plan to continue enhancing employees' pride through various plans and programs."

Meanwhile, as part of efforts to create a workplace everyone wants to work at, HD Hyundai operates various systems and programs such as supporting kindergarten fees for children, opening workplace daycare centers, introducing flexible work systems, providing employee family cards, offering free in-house wedding halls and photo booths, and hosting cultural events.
